CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (March 5, 2020) – Applications are now available for all three events at the 2020 Chattanooga Motorcar Festival, set for Oct. 16-18 in downtown Chattanooga.

For the second straight year, the Festival will feature the High Jinks Rallye, the Between the Bridges Time Trials, and the Rendezvous of the Greats Concours d’Elegance, focusing on vehicles of all types and presentations that engage, excite and entertain the entire family.

The Festival encourages those who participated in the inaugural 2019 event and all new entrants to send in their applications by the deadline of Sept. 10. Applications can be found HERE. Applicants will be contacted directly upon approval, denial or if needed added to the waiting list.

Presented by DeFoor Brothers and hosted by Fifty Plus Racing Foundation, Inc., the 2020 Festival includes a full three days of activities in West Village, the Tennessee Riverfront and the Westin Hotel Chattanooga. The Time Trials Between the Bridges and the High Jinks Rallyes will be conducted on both Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17 and 18, while the Rendezvous of the Greats Concours d’Elegance is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 18.

Additional Friday and other weekend events will be announced at a later date.

The beneficiary of the Festival’s proceeds will again be Chattanooga’s Erlanger Neuroscience Institute, the region’s only certified academic Neuroscience Center, which focuses on a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach that enhances quality of care for patients and family.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer a full weekend of family-friendly events this year at the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival,” said Byron DeFoor, founder of the Festival. “We are working hard on adding even more exciting and fun activities, so stay tuned.

“One of the keys to a successful Festival is having fabulous and dynamic cars that will participate in each event, so we’re encouraging car owners to send in their applications soon!”

The core components of this year’s Festival include:

High Jinks Rallye – Drivers will experience the Tennessee landscape in an event for authentic vintage and historic cars which are street-legal, registered, fully operational, capable of completing the road course and present a neat and finished appearance. It is a “road rallye” style event, where a driver and navigator will run the open road on a predetermined route.

Between the Bridges Time Trials – This is a competitive event for authentic vintage and historic cars. It is in the style of a “hillclimb” or “time trial,” where cars will run one at a time against the clock. Participants must have a valid competition license and are expected to compete in a gentlemanly spirit of fair play, with respect for their competitors, the cars and the regulations.

Rendezvous of the Greats Concours d’Elegance – The Concours will be judged by an expert panel based on class. Participation in the Concours does not require a competition license. A valid state issued driver’s license is required if operating a vehicle. All drivers must present a copy of their driver’s license attached to their application for entry.
