Tanner Foust, three-time U.S. Rallycross champion, winner of four X Games gold medals and two Formula Drift Championships, will be a featured celebrity driver at the inaugural Chattanooga MotorCar Festival, Presented by DeFoor Brothers, Sponsored by Volkswagen, on Oct. 11-13, 2019.
Foust, the lead driver for Andretti Rallycross in the 2019 Americas Rallycross (ARX) Championship, driving the No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Beetle, will perform dramatic drift demonstrations for spectators on the 1.5-mile Time Trials circuit in a custom 900-HP, V8-powered Volkswagen Passat. The demonstrations will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12. He will also participate in autograph sessions and other events. More information can be found at www.ChattanoogaMotorCar.com.
Foust is a world record holder in a number of disciplines, including the Hot Wheels Double Loop Dare, which saw him drive a car through a 66-foot loop-the-loop. He scored the indoor speed record for TV’s Top Gear USA and set a distance jump record with Hot Wheels when he made a 332-foot ramp-to-ramp leap in a truck at the Indy 500.
“We are excited to have such a dynamic racer and personality as our honored guest at the inaugural Chattanooga MotorCar Festival,” said Byron DeFoor, founder of the Festival. “I have no doubt that his tire-smoking, heart-pumping drift demonstrations in the high-powered Volkswagen Passat will have fans standing on their feet watching every inch of his runs. I know I’m one who cannot wait to see him perform.”
“It’s great to be a part of this exciting event,” said Foust. “I feel honored to be a member of the Volkswagen family, and it will be a blast taking the Passat out and shredding tires in the city that builds the vehicle. Still can’t quite believe they are closing a major road in the city, but we will put on quite a show and give some great rides to several thrill-seeking charity donors!”
